Lekkerbly is an Afrikaans word meaning to stay well. We intend living up to our name and this is why we appreciate any comments, tips and fair criticism. Our philosophy is to match the best possible route, itinerary and services to your particular requirements thus ensuring you get the best possible experience, good value for your money and an ideal holiday! Please do not hesitate to contact us personally for a unique tailor made holiday avoiding where possible the mass tourism. We do not intend to be the largest or cheapest tour operator but certainly one of the best!

Dear Anja,

We have had a wonderful holiday!!! Even if it was a little tiring it certainly was worth every minute. Our compliments for the accurate route description. All trips were well planned and easy to drive. A pity however that in Cape Town there are two streets with the same name. Unfortunately our bushwalk in the Kruger Park was cancelled as the guide had fallen ill.(Lekkerbly: The route description has been adapted and we will return the money paid for the bushwalk a.s.a.p.)

All lodges were super good!!!!! Very friendly and hospitable people. The guesthouse in St Lucia was excellent. Our holiday started a little stressed because the plain was overbooked???? With a little extra persuasion we were lucky to get on board and start our holiday in time. (8 other people unfortunately were less lucky) Thanks for the tip you gave to take pills against sea sickness when we went on our shark cage diving trip!!

Next time we go to Southern Africa we will certainly book via Lekkerbly again.

Dear Anja and Simon
Our trip was fantastic: the accommodations were top notch and our hosts generous. The self-catering accommodations too were all beautifully located, in particular Mountain Retreat, which was one of the highlights of our trip, literally and figuratively speaking.
The one little hitch we had along the way was solved with a quick phone call to Bart, a fact we appreciated. Using our Eyewitness travel guide, we tried a few very pretty alternative routes, and saw and experienced such a lot – also in terms of food and wine. A great deal is obviously being done for the advancement of the poor in South Africa, yet this process will clearly still take a considerable time.
Abbey Manor proved an excellent choice of lodgings for our final few days in Cape Town. As we were looking down into South Africa from Table Mountain, the two of us agreed that we’ll definitely be back.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for arranging my trip so well. The bookings and the accommodations and so on where very well organized. The accommodations were good, and I was welcomed in a friendly manner everywhere, an indication of the care with which they were chosen. Good planning and organisation enabled me to see a very large part of Namibia. It’s very reassuring to know that you’ve booked through a reliable organisation and that any problems that may arise are dealt with quickly and expertly. All in all, I had a most enjoyable trip!

Dear Anja and Simon
We enjoyed our South African holiday and visit to family enormously. Our trip went very well and we were most satisfied with the way you arranged our car rental and B&B accommodations. There are a couple of points we would like to bring to your attention, without suggesting any criticism. - The route from Parys to Golden Gate was a very long one on a gravel road, and there was no alternative. (Lekkerbly: Thanks for letting us know. We have adjusted our route instructions accordingly.)
- The B&B in Oudtshoorn is not very well situated as far as noise is concerned. It is on a busy road, and noise levels from cars and pedestrians are quite high at night. (Lekkerbly: We will look into this, and have suspended bookings to this B&B in the meantime. This noise problem is a new one to us.)
In all, everything went well and we had a super holiday.

This time we had a special reason for travelling to South Africa and you and Simon deserve our compliments for the way you organized it for us.
The other ten-day trip which we planned together was particularly special. While you imagine that regular visits to South Africa give a fair insight into the people and the country, a trip under the guidance of a private driver/guide (Gertie Tuinder was our guide) gives you so much more. This was the first time that we had had a private guide/driver, but we heartily recommend it as a very relaxed form of travel: you don’t have to worry about a thing, you see so much more and are given a wealth of information in a most entertaining fashion - we started referring to Gertie as our “walking encyclopaedia”.
The whole trip was perfect: the transfers and transport was excellent and accommodation first class – everything went smoothly. Being able to rely on the support of the local Lekkerbly office was reassuring.
In short, your organisation deserves our praises. We plan to keep using Lekkerbly , and we’re spreading the word.

Namibia: unspoilt, surprising and hospitable. Infinite space, breathtaking landscapes, deafening silence, captivating flora and fauna and heart-warming hospitality are the essence of our experience of four weeks’ travel in Namibia. Thanks to the personal involvement Simon and Anja from Lekkerbly in Steenwijk had in arranging our trip, we enjoyed the “dry paradises and the living desert” (sic) to the fullest.

Dear Anja and Simon Brokke
We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip we made to South Africa in August. That country has truly stolen our hearts, and we enjoy our experience anew every day by looking at the many photos we took there. Bas has made a beautiful DVD of our photos, set to the sound of South African music and the songs of Stef Bos.
Everything we saw and did during our four weeks of travelling through South Africa made an indelible impression on us. In particular, we liked staying with people in their own homes (the so-called B&B), which gave us the opportunity to meet the local population and discuss with them what living in South Africa is like. You selected beautiful spots for us to visit: we were particularly enamoured of Lady Grey, Oudtshoorn, Swaziland, Mkhaya – actually, everyting was beautiful. Sometimes we felt that we had insufficient time to really get to see everything, which is one drawback of booking accommodation beforehand. On a next visit, we will definitely stay everywhere a little longer. You will have deduced by now that we definitely plan to go back to this beautiful continent.
In the meantime we have told lots of people about Lekkerbly and, as far as we know, some of those have already approached Lekkerbly to book a trip.
We’d like to thank you for all the effort you went to on our behalf.

Hello to the team at Lekkerbly
We had a fantastic trip during which we had some really fine experiences. This is a country of extremes, wealth alongside so much poverty. The 11 different accommodations we stayed in during our 22 days were all perfectly chosen and booked, and the 6,000 kilometres we travelled were well spread out over the three weeks. Our hosts were all very friendly; we didn’t have a single bad experience.
Lekkerbly’s formula of allowing an initial few days for acclimatizing in the company of our guide/driver Bart is a good idea which we can recommend. Once you then start your actual travels you are well informed and have been given a good idea of what to expect. We had the added bonus of having our daughter Nicoline waiting for us at the airport as a ‘hostess’; she had had to undertake quite a lengthy bus trip from her place of study to get there on time – good organisation!
We definitely want to return to South Africa, perhaps combining South Africa with a trip to one of the neighbouring countries. We saw all the wildlife the expansive nature reserves have to offer, except for the leopard, as well as a wide variety of beautiful plants.
For us, this really was a trip made to measure, thanks to Lekkerbly.
